Freshman of the Year
Andrew Parten of Thomasville (right) was named Freshman of the Year at the University of West Alabama in Livingston. Parten was also inducted into the National Freshman Honor Society and National Biology Honor Society. He is also a member of the baseball team and had the highest GPA in the freshman class. Parten was inducted into the University of West Alabama Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. A national honor society which has as its purpose the recognition of students who have exhibited superior accomplishments in academics during their initial year of collegiate studies. He was also inducted in Beta Phi (Biology Honor Society). Dr. Jeffery Merida (left) a former Thomasville High School teacher, was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. A national honor society which recognizes faculty, staff, and alumni of superior scholarship, intergrity of character, and the highest ideals who share an abiding love of learning.
