The Thomasville High School basketball program saw two of their senior athletes receive recognition on the ASWA All-State teams announced last week. Both the varsity boys' and varsity girls' squad placed a player on the 4A teams.

Receiving Honorable Mention status from the Tiger varsity was Daril Jackson. During this past season he averaged 16.5 points, 8.2 assist, and four rebounds per game from his point guard position. Although he hasn't made a decision at this point about where he will further his education, he reportedly has received basketball scholarship offers from Alabama Southern Community College, Jefferson Davis Community College and Itawamba Community College in Mississippi,

Representing the Lady Tigers, also with Honorable Mention status, was forward Nicole Washington. During her senior season she averaged 7.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game. Her field goal percentage on the year was 42% while her free throw percentage came in at 70%.

Both of these outstanding young athletes played an important part of the success the THS boys and girls varsity teams enjoyed over the past several years and will be sorely missed next season.
