      Say what you want about Mayor Sheldon Day, but the "Energizer Bunny" of small town mayors never stops trying to promote Thomasville. After hauling Gov. Bob Riley to Thomasville a couple of times now for the rural supplier conference and nabbing visits from Sens.

      "Money can't buy happiness." I know, they do all these studies that say Fortune 500 multi-millionaires are no happier than say, Mongolian goat herders, and that this seems to apply for everyone, but I'm not buying it anymore. So to speak.

Another prosecution overturned

      In a case reeking with prosecutorial abuse and misconduct the United States Department of Justice has been ordered by a federal judge in Birmingham to pay a Huntsville businessman a half million dollars in restitution for a wrongful prosecution and seizure of his property.

The county needs a good animal shelter
      Dear Editor: Thank you for all the good work you do and your staff does each week to provide us with all the area happenings. I was one of the privileged people who had the opportunity to meet with the Animal Shelter Task Force concerning the need for an animal shelter in Clarke County.
