Ott running for County Commission District 2

J. Ladell Ott
J. Ladell Ott is running on the Republican ticket for the Clarke County Commission, District 2 seat. He has been employed with Alabama River Newsprint in Perdue Hill since 1989 as a maintenance technician. He currently holds licensures with the Alabama Homebuilders Association and the Alabama Plumbers and Gas Fitters Board. Ott also owns and operates Jottco Home Builders, which is a home contracting and rental management firm, locally and in Auburn. A native of Clarke County, he was raised by his parents Marie and Junior Ott. He and his wife, Belle live in Thomasville on highway 154 in the Sandflat community and have four children and four grandchildren.

"I will run the commission seat with the same principals that I operate my own business by thus eliminating excessive expenditures and waste that create a higher taxation on the citizens of Clarke County," he said. "As an experienced contractor and business owner, I will be knowledgeable in coordinating bids and proposals for projects brought before the commission and will be able to maximize the counties investments."

"I would also like to see some of the commission meetings held at night to allow the citizens of Clarke County to attend without having to take time off work as they do now. Please feel free to contact me with any issues or concerns. The commission should hear your voice as you have elected them to represent you. When you bring your issues to me as your commissioner, we will always have an adult conversation, you may not always like my answer, but I will never lie to you!"

"I pledge to run my campaign with a spirit of cooperation, respect, ethics and integrity in a process of engaging and empowering voters. I would like to take this opportunity to ask the citizens of Clarke County District 2 to elect me as your new commissioner for a more sustainable economic development with new jobs and better roads for Clarke County to become a more desirable and livable place for future generations."
