Litter clean ups around Clarke

The City of Thomasville will have dumpsters out at several locations around town for the annual town clean up.

Dumpsters will be located at Deas Tires on Wilson Avenue, McFadden Park, Wilkinson Field and the Thomasville High School parking lot beginning Friday and running through May 2.

Citizens are encouraged to clean up around their homes and businesses and pick up any litter they see.

The dumpsters cannot take tires, construction debris, paint or chemicals.

The Clarke County Citizens Agaist Litter Committee encourages all citizens to get involved, individually or as groups, to make this effort a success. Cleanup dates this year are as follows: Coffeeville, April 12-19, Jackson, April 19-25 and Grove Hill, April 19th.

"This is an annual campaign to cleanup our area, but with new businesses wanting to locate here, we should make it a permanent one in order to make a good impression on our visitors," said Walter Davis. "Remember, we only have one chance to make a good first impression."
