Linden golf tourney All golfers from throughout West Alabama can win $30,000 for a hole in one Saturday, April 26, in Linden Rotary Club's annual benefit tournament. The big prize hole will be a short 135 yards and three other par three holes will have additional hole in one prizes. Every golfer who scores a hole in one will win the $30,000 on that designated hole, or the prizes on the other holes. Registration opens at 11:00 a. m. with a barbecue lunch. The shotgun scramble begins at 12:00 noon. This will be team play -- four per team. Golfers can form their own team or bring their average score for 18 holes and be placed on a team. Complimentary beverages will be on the course. After play is completed, golfers will be treated an awards banquet where winners of the tournament will be announced. Cash prizes will be awarded for the longest drive on two par five holes and closest to the pin on two par three holes. Benefiting from this tournament will be Camp ASCA (Easter seals camp for crippled children and adults on Lake Matin), the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, local scholarships, contributions to Rotary Foundation where international charities are funded, and for eradication of Polio world wide. Golf carts are limited at the Linden Country Club so visiting golfers are urged by Wynne to bring their own carts. Entry fees are $50 per golfer.
To reserve your team's spot, send the names and entry fees to Rob Wynne, Linden Rotary Golf Tournament, Box 480369, Linden, AL 36748. Make checks payable to Linden Rotary Club.
