Leadership Clarke County class of 2008 graduates
The soon-to-be graduates and their guests were welcomed by Asberry Daffin of Boise, President of Leadership Clarke County. Each graduate gave an impromptu speech on what the class had meant to him or her over the length of the program. Some of the class members were asked to participate in one last class challenge led by board member Debra Wood. Afterwards, the invocation was given my board member, Marty Parker, also of Boise. The class members, guests, and board members in attendance enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Mrs. Monette Morrison. Judy Graham, Project Manager for Alabama Power, was the keynote speaker and was introduced by board member Angie Foreman. Judy's speak was both humorous and motivational as she challenged each graduate to take what they had learned and to become involved. Judy is responsible for adding the youth component to the leadership Clarke County program. Presenting the diplomas and special awards for the graduates were board members Althea Thomas of Merchants Bank and Angie Foreman of Alabama Power. They were also responsible for planning the event. Special recognition were given to two students- (1)Nichole D'Andrea and (2)Matthew Grafton. Nichole won the VIP award. Matthew was recognized for being on Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which took in Mobile, Al and actually had a video message to the family.
Graduates are(in no particular order) Vic Adkison, Elaine Averett, Elma Averett, Chris Baker, Michael Bedsole, Beverly Carter, Vera Chapman, Shara Cotten, Ketrenia Crenshaw, Nichole D'Andrea, Robert Denton, Randall East, Heidi Gaillard, Amy Gibson, Matthew Grafton, Laura Hixon, Anna Kate Mullinex, Ruby O'Bryant, Michelle Orwig, Dalton Orwig, Larremy Pope, Anna Reid, Nina Tocci, McKenize Tucker, Kevan Tucker, Michael Whitehead, and Nina Wilson.
