The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wise of Thomasville, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Gibson of Marietta, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lorraine Pate of Fairhope and the late Mr. James Pate and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wise of Elba. David is the grandson of Mrs. Ree Robinson of Marietta, and the late Mr. William Robinson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gibson of Wilmington, N.C. The wedding was held at the Casa Magna Marriott at 3 p.m. When guests arrived they were greeted in the garden gazebo area by a solo violinist playing various classical renditions, including BachsAir on a G String andVivaldiâs Spring from the Four Seasons. Long-time family friend, Paxton Duke, passed out programs and showed guests to their seats in front of a white gazebo near the end of a cliff overlooking the ocean. Two large floral sprays of white lilies, roses, orchids and blue delphinium adorned the base of each column, and a complementing arrangement was placed on the alter table inside the gazebo. White flowing chiffon was draped on the gazebo and also along the inside of the aisle. Each row was adorned with white tropical lilies and an ivory gerbera daisy. The bride's father escorted her down the brick aisle to her husband-to-be while a solo violinist played the Bridal Chorus by Wagner. Her gown had a sweetheart neckline and was made of white English netting with a hand-shirred bodice, fluted A-line skirt and sweep train. Her cathedral length veil made of Japanese silk pinned at the bottom of her hair gently flowed in the wind during the ceremony. She carried a bouquet of white lilies, white roses, and blue delphinium wrapped with a light blue ribbon and three handkerchiefs, one was monogrammed with the bride and groom's names and wedding date and the other two were her great-grandmothers. Maid of honor Shelley Wise, sister of the bride, wore a light blue tea-length strapless Nu- Georgette dress with a slight sweetheart neckline and an off white matte satin sash accenting her natural waist. She carried a bouquet complementing the bride's. David's brother, Keith Gibson, served as his best man, and Sam Wise, brother of the bride, served as the usher. The groom wore a tan suit, and the best man and usher were clad in khaki pants and white shirts. Each, including the bride and groom's fathers, had a white rose with blue accented boutonniere. The bride's close family friend, Miss Neely Duke, opened the ceremony in prayer, a reading from 1 Corinthians 13, and a meaningful description about the commitment of marriage. She also led the congregation in the Lord's Prayer before the unity sand ceremony. After saying I do, the newlyweds were showered with white rose petals as they made their way back down the aisle as husband and wife. A short reception was held immediately following the ceremony where the couple enjoyed a toast and cut the bride's cake. The bride's three-tiered almond-flavored cake was coated in white fondant and topped with a single white orchid. The reception was held at the Moon Palace Resort. Flowing white fabric mirroring the gazebo at the ceremony draped over bamboo tents that covered two large tables. Tall cocktail tables covered in white linens surrounded the space and each were topped with three glass cylinders with sand, shells, and floating white candles, which were used throughout the reception area. Tall arrangements of branches, draped with large crystals, white orchids, and hanging votive candles also added drama to the room. Each dinner table had two large arrangements carrying over the feel and decor of the ceremony, and clear glass bowls filled with sand, seashells, starfish, sand dollars, and a floating white candle created a romantic ambiance in the room. Kassady and David shared their first dance to Van Morrison's Someone Like You, followed by the bride and her father dancing to The Temptation's My Girl and the groom and his mother dancing to Michael Buble's version of the Louis Armstrong classic, What a Wonderful World. The bride and groom were toasted by their close family and friends, then assorted seafood, steak, and other gourmet foods were served for dinner. The groom's favorite cake is tres leches and it was covered in a smooth dark brown fondant and covered in shells, starfish and coral made of white chocolate.
