Drama Club play on tap
Time flies by, be careful not to miss out!" Most everyone has heard this familiar saying. Some may even view it as a cliché. Nevertheless, it still rings true. When one finally succeeds in reaching their senior year, they tend to reflect and reminisce on the previous four years. They ponder and muse over past experiences and over fun and exciting memories they will carry with them for years to come. But above all, there is a realization every senior must come to terms with - the reality of all their "last times."

The last time to play a basketball game, the last time to score that winning touchdown for the team, even the last time to eat a school lunch!

For seniors John Sims, John Thornton and Caleb Clardy, the last time to perform in a high school production that is currently in progress.

They are the senior actors for our spring musical, School House Rock Live Junior. This play actually involves actors from the elementary to the high school but for these three young men, it has greater sentimental value than usual. All three have been participants in Drama Club prior to this play, so experience transcends their seniority qualifications beyond mere age.

John Sims has been an active member of the Drama Club and Thespian Honor Society since his freshman year. He is also our Thespian Honor Society president this year. When asked how this play compares to previous productions, John responded, 'School House Rock Live is unique. It places emphasis on the younger age group that is often overlooked in theatre. A very good choice!"

John Thornton feels that the play will appeal to all audiences. "It's directed toward elementary, but I believe the older generation will appreciate it because of the education material."

School House Rock Live Junior does in fact have plenty of educational substance. It covers a wide range of elementary concepts in an entertaining and very compelling manner.

For Caleb Clardy this play brings back memories from when he was a child.

"I remember listening to Conjunction Junction when I was a kid," Caleb said. "It was my favorite."

Expectations are high for this year's spring production. Please take the time to come and see for yourself.

The performance schedule will be May 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. and May 11 at 2:30 p.m. in the Thomasville High School cafetorium. Ticket prices will be $7.50. To purchase tickets, call Mrs. Lisa Newton at 334- 636-4451.
