Speakers visit THS during career tech education month

Thomasville High FFA Chapter celebrated Career Technical Education Month the week of February 11-15. The chapter had several speakers during the week. Steve James started the week by informing the agriscience class about a career as a conservation officer; followed by presentations from Dr. Taylor Byrd and Dr. Donald Outland from Alabama A&M University Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Outland discussed various careers, scholarships, GPA, SAT, and ACT scores, grants and loans. Assistance was giving to students while completing admission application. John Shepherd with Thompson Tractor explained several career paths with great entry-level jobs with various opportunities for promotion within the company. The week was well spent with valuable student information on preparing, continuing and securing future careers in business and industry.
