Hindsight before every decision
In more individualized sports like golf and tennis, having hindsight before hand would certainly alter the outcome of everything. Take for example the final round of the Masters Golf Tournament which took place this past Sunday under very windy conditions which not only affected the flight of the ball on tee and fairway shots but dried the greens out much faster than normal, making it more difficult to dictate how quickly a ball landing on the green would check up and to determine the speed of putts once on the green. I'm sure knowing the outcome of their shots before they made them would have helped a lot of the world's best golfers avoid finding the water hazards, landing in the sand traps and bunkers and having to play shots from the rough not to mention not leaving putts short or rolling them past the hole. Who knows the size of the famous green jacket awarded to the winner this year might have been totally different if that had been the case. I am sure most of us would be the first in line if we thought there was someplace we could go to get perfect hindsight before we began each day. The trouble is we would also most likely want to keep how and where we got it a secret to insure we were the only one with such a gift. And despite what we might say or even want to believe I'm afraid we would not always use such a gift only for good. There's know doubt God in his infinite wisdom made us all in such away that our hindsight is most always the clearest and every moment of our life holds some degree of mystery. I am sure he knew that taking all the mystery out of what lay ahead of us each day would in the long run only make our lives boring and ultimately miserable. Furthermore he knew it is only through our failures that some of life's greatest lessons can ever be learned and our successes truly appreciated. With all that said I guess it is best that our hindsight remain just that and that if indeed it is 20 - 20 we learn from it the best we can so our foresight in the future might be the best it can be.
Until next time…….be safe!
