Avritt, Green vows exchanged in Pine Hill

Mrs. William Drew Green
Miss Anna Lillian Avritt became the bride of William Drew Green at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Pine Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Ricky Ault, pianist, and Valerie Kay Stewart, vocalist. Margaret Leigh Casey read I Corinthians 13.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Leslie Avritt of Pine Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Aubrey Thompson Weatherly and the late Mr. Weatherly, Mrs. Clyde Anthony Savage and Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Avritt.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Donna Leonard Puckett and Mr. Ronald Green. He is the grandson of Mrs. Edwin Dungan and the late Mr. Dungan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Lee Green.

On the front porch of the church guests were greeted by a large wreath of lemon leaf and spring flowers. It was accented with an ivory scarf featuring the couple's monogram. Before entering the church, the guests were registered by Mary Elizabeth Shirah. The greeters were Kelsey Hicks and Grace Shirah.

A large garden-styled arrangement of pink tulips, lavender stock, gerbera daisies, larkspur, roses and other mixed spring flowers filled the baptistery of the church. Matching arrangements of the same flowers graced each side of the altar and spilled over the chancel rails. Large Boston ferns on pedestals completed the setting for the ceremony.

A candle was placed to the right of the altar in memory of Mr. Aubrey Thompson Weatherly, Mr. Edwin Dungan and Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Lee Green.

Entering the church on the arm of her father, the bride was given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a onepiece ivory satin A-line halter dress with beaded lace.

The chapel-length train was champagne. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Anna roses, star of Bethlehem and dendrobium orchid sprays.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Carmen Anita Avritt, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Abigail Leslie Avritt, sister of the bride, Kristyn Lynn Champion, Leslie Godbold Flowers, Jamie Hamilton Gaston and Martha Agee Moore. They wore clover tea-length dresses and carried spring garden bouquets of pink tulips, alstroemeria, lilies, gerbera daisies, lavender stock, roses and yellow solidago.

Joni LaSha Morgan was the flower girl. She wore an ivory satin dress and carried a basket filled with rose petals.

The groom chose Jeremy Ryan Moore as best man. Other groomsmen were Joey Lee Flowers, Oary Bernard Gaston, Matthew Taylor Green, brother of the groom, Michael James Moore and Zachary Bruce Wilson. Carson Ryan Moore served as ring bearer.

Immediately following the ceremony, Rev. Carl Williams invited the guests to join the family at the reception honoring the couple in the church fellowship hall.

The reception tables were adorned with white clothes and formal arrangements of alstroemeria, lilies, snapdragons, larkspur and roses.

Attending the bride's table were Britney Morgan and Deidra Maness. The three-tiered wedding cake, decorated with live roses, sat atop a round silver pedestal.

The groom's table held at two-tiered chocolate cake on a square silver pedestal. Atop the cake were authentic turkey feathers and shotgun shells. Serving at this table were Kelsey Champion and Kellie Pope.

Mrs. Charles Samac, aunt of the bride, served punch from an antique punch bowl, which had been a wedding gift to the bride's great-grandparents.

Also served was a fruit tree, a gift to the couple from Mrs. Randal Hill and Ms. Jennifer Hill.

Following a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple will reside in Pine Hill.
