Lady Tigers JV wins two

The Thomasville High School Lady Tiger JV softball team added to more games to their win total this past week when they defeated the Choctaw County Lady Tiger JV 9 - 8 and the Clarke County Lady Bulldog JV 9 - 3. Both of the victories came on the road with the victory over Choctaw County taking place on Monday, April 21 in Butler while the win over arch rival Clarke County occurred on Thursday, April 24 in Grove Hill. With the two wins they improved their season record to 11 - 6.

In Monday's action Kaley McManus picked up the win on the mound for Thomasville improving her season mark to 2 - 1. In four innings she allowed eight runs on three hits and five walks while striking out eight. At the plate Tiffany Drinkard and Kaley McManus led the charge for the Lady Tigers with two hits each. Joining them with one hit apiece were; Tiffany Baugh, JuQuesha Evans and Shan Washington. In the extra-base hit category McManus had a pair of doubles while Evans had one two bagger. McManus was the RBI leader as well with three followed by Drinkard with two.

On Thursday it was Tiffany Baugh picking up the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers, evening her season record at 3 - 3. In five innings she allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out 11. On offense the Lady Tiger batting order accumulated nine hits with Tiffany Drinkard and Natalie Washington setting the pace with two hits each. JuQuesha Evans, Kaley McManus, Mary Beth Nichols, Amber Scott and Shan Washington joined them in the hit parade with one hit apiece. In the extra-base hit category Drinkard and Shan Washington each had a triple while Natalie Washington had a double. Nichols, Natalie Washington, and Shan Washington were the RBI leaders in the game with two each followed by Drinkard and McManus with one apiece.

Up next for the Lady Tiger JV is their final game of the season scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 when they play host to the Lady Blue Devil JV from Escambia County High School. Game time is set for 4:30 PM.
