Boys suffer back to back losses

The Thomasville High School Boys' Varsity Basketball team came up on the short end of two six point losses at home last week when they fell to the Hillcrest Jaguars 46 - 40 on Friday, January 2, and to the Demopolis Tigers 46 - 40 on Saturday, January 3. In both games the homestanding Tigers fell behind early and couldn't come out of it despite second half rallies.
In Friday's loss to Hillcrest the Tigers were led in scoring by Demetric Watters with 10 points followed by Jamarcus Blackmon and Justin Campbell with seven points each. Tyler Hayes and Shaq Jackson were next with four points each while Rayshawn Cairl had three points and the trio of Alex Buford, Tevin Pope, and Jonathan Williams added two points apiece.
In Saturday's loss to Demopolis Alex Buford and Jamarcus Blackmon had the hot hands with 12 and 11 points respectively. Shaq Jackson was next with seven points followed by Tevin Pope with six and Demetric Watters with four.
On tap next the Tigers were scheduled to host the Sumter County Wildcats on Tuesday, January 6, before hitting the road to Grove Hill on Friday, January 9 for a match-up with arch rival Clarke County.
