Albritton tosses hat into the ring
Greg Albritton, attorney and former State Representative, has announced his candidacy for the State Senate District 22.
"Today, I throw my hat into the ring," stated Albritton. Experience and ability are the primary reasons Albritton gave for his entry into this race. He explained, "I have the experience and conservative record that is needed in Montgomery. I have proven that I will fight against higher taxes, will fight to protect our family values, and will do everything in my power to bring more jobs and industry to our communities. I am the most experienced candidate and am prepared to serve the constituents of District 22."
As a Republican, Albritton served in the State house from 2002-2006, representing District 64, which includes Baldwin, Conecuh, Escambia and Monroe Counties. A retired Navy Commander, Albritton currently is a timber farmer, a real estate appraiser and has a law practice in Evergreen. Albritton also has served as city attorney for the towns of Excel and Castleberry, and has served as municipal judge for Evergreen.
Greg Albritton is married to the former Deborah Whitlock for 34 years and is the father of six children and 15 grandchildren. He has served on various boards including the Girl Scout Council, the local Boy Scout Council, and currently serves on the Coastal Gateway Regional Economic Development Authority, USS Alabama Battleship Commission and Conecuh County Industrial Development Board.
Senate District 22 became vacant upon the death of Senator Pat Lindsey. The district encompasses portions of Baldwin, Clarke, Choctaw, Conecuh, Escambia, Monroe, Mobile and Washington Counties.
