Click it or Ticket ongoing
The Thomasville Police Department in the midst of its participation in the Click it or Ticket program.
Chief Maurice Dyess said the department wrote more than 200 tickets during its participation in the program, most of them for seatbelt violations.
The fine in Alabama for not wearing a seatbelt is just $25.00. Not a tremendously great incentive to make folks buckle up in our opinion. But then, who has $25 to burn these days?
It's a simple habit to get into and it's something that just makes sense when it's been proven that seatbelt use really does save lives in automobile accident.
If you were one of those folks cited by the police, now's the time to start buckling up so you won't get a ticket the next time "Johnny Law" decides to run a roadside checkpoint.
