The Thomasville Tigers continued their torrid pace this past Friday, October 9, when they traveled to Evergreen and handed the Hillcrest High School Jaguars a 60 - 8 defeat. More ... As I am writing this column, coaches and players at both Thomasville High School and Clarke County High School are busy preparing for the ninety fourth renewal of the gridiron rivalry between the two schools that dates back to their first meeting in 1917. More ... The Sweet Water Bulldogs rolled up 403 yards on the ground this past Friday, October 9, on their way to 46 - 13 win over the Butler County Magnet School Panthers at Nolan Atkins Stadium. That total with their 33 yards in the air gave them 436 total yards of offense to the Panthers 88 total yards, almost a 5 to 1 difference. More ... The Marengo Panthers dropped a heart breaking 13 - 12 loss to the Fruitdale Pirates on the road this past Friday, October 9. Even though one extra-point ultimately proved to be margin of victory in the game; it was 10 turnovers, five fumbles and five interceptions, which spelled doom for the Panthers. More ... The Thomasville High School Lady Tiger Volleyball team dropped two strait games to both Jackson and UMS-Wright in a tri-match played in Jackson on Tuesday, September 29. They followed that up with another hard fought road loss to the Lady Tigers of Monroe County on Wednesday, September 30. More ... The Second Annual Rambling Rose Ghost Chase 5K Road Race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 24 in Thomasville. The start time for the 5K race is set for 4:00 PM with a one mile fun run to begin immediately following the race, at approximately 4:45 PM. More ... |
