Rawls is county’s top speller
      Thomasville Elementary School fourth grade student Mark Rawls will represent Clarke County when he heads to Birmingham on March 6 to compete in the Alabama State Spelling Bee championship. Rawls won the Clarke County contest by out-spelling Thomasville Middle School eighth grader Jasmine Carter.

      OK, so there I was last week in Mrs. Nichols Algebra 3 class, rocking some problems like I was some kind of genius (for me it was like the sky had opened up with a halleluiah chorus), when one of my classmates asked me questions about my state officer work. I was so happy and animated as I told them about all the things I get to do as District III Vice-President of Alabama FBLA.

Career Tech month proclaimed
      State officers for Alabama's Career Tech organizations traveled to the state capital on Jan. 22, for the signing of the proclaimation signed by Gov. TMS Scholar's Bowl team
      On Jan. 30, the Thomasville Middle School Scholars' Bowl team competed in a scholastic challenge tournament at St. Paul's in Mobile. The team won one match and lost three - two of them “heartbreakers” - lost by less than the value of one final round question.
