Vernon Leon Denson, 69, of Wedowee died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Wedowee Hospital.
He was born Feburary 6, 1941 in Mississipppi. He was a railroad conductor and a Vietnam veteran.
Graveside funeral services were held at Choctaw Cemetery in Thomasville at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 with Lamar Mason officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Denson of Wedowee; five sons, Craig Denson of Selma, Kenneth Denson of Bay Minette, Gaylen Denson of Valley Grande, John Denson of Birmingham and Kevin Denson of Warrior; two daughters, Katherine Cauthen of Birmingham and Emily Denson of Remlap; step-daughter, Megan Thornburg of Birmingham; step-son, Jacob Gleason of Wedowee; sister, Pearlie Mae Smith of Sunny South; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Legion, Post 26, 515 East 18th Street, Anniston, Ala. 36207.
