Melba Smith Anderson, 93, of Thomasville died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Thomasville Nursing Home.

She was born October 23, 1916 in Lower Peachtree. She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. James Best and Dr. George Sedberry officiating. Interment was in Choctaw Cemetery in Thomasville.

She is survived by four nieces, Dot Scarbrough of Thomasville, Virginia Glass and Sally Cox of Birmingham and Pam Smith of Pensacola; four nephews, George Davis of San Jose, Calif., Gene Davis of Thomasville, Mike Smith of Fulton and Loyal Bryan of Satsuma.

Pallbearers were Glen Cox, Don Glass, Mike Smith, Joe Bill Jeffrey, Bill Scarbrough and Loyal Bryan.

O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed.
