Thomasville will be the new home to Lakeside Steel, a Canadian-owned company that will employ 60-80 people with high-paying jobs. Gov. Bob Riley joined state and city officials in announcing the new plant Thursday afternoon at the Thomasville Civic Center.
The plant will use steel from the Thyssen-Krupp plant in Calvert and turn it into high quality piping used in oil and gas exploration.Company officials said they planned to begin construction of the facility “almost immediately.” The plant will be located at the former Mobile Asphalt Company site in the Joe Davis Industrial Park.
