Beverly Ann George, 67, of Wichita, Kan. died Saturday, October 23, 2010. She was born on September 10, 1943 to Albert and Margaret Walston in Indianapolis, Ind.
Beverly attended school in Indianapolis, Ind. where she graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. She joined Olivet Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined St. Matthew C.M.E., where she served as a Stewardess. She married Henry Paul George, Sr. on December 13, 1967. She was employed by the United States Government, starting at Fort Benjamin Harrison and ending at the Internal Revenue Service, where she was a supervisor for a total of 27 years.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Matthew CME Church in Wichita, Kan. with Pastor James C. Hendricks, Sr. officiating. Interment was at Old Mission Mausoleum Cemetery in Wichita, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Walston and her husband, Henry Paul George, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Jr. (Sara) George of Indianapolis, Ind. and Shawn T. (LaMika) George of Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Trina R. (Anthony) White of Indianapolis, Ind., Rhonda L. Banks and Tisha M. (Steve) Trotter both of Wichita, Kan.; mother, Margaret L. Walston of Indianapolis, Ind.; aunt, Julia Steveson of Indianapolis, Ind.; cousin, Maxine Gilmore of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Ellis (Creola) George of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Nobles of Thomasville; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Henry Paul George, Shawn Terrell George, Anthony White, Sr., Steve Trotter, Gary George and Michael George.
Flower bearers were St. Matthew C.M.E. Stewardess.
