Nedra Gates, 82, of Thomasville died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile. She was a housewife and worked at H. A. Satin in Grove Hill and Bill’s Dollar Store from which she retired. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Faircloth officiating. Interment was at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Claude Gates; father, Archie Francis Junkins; mother, Mamie Criswell Junkins; two sisters, Berniece Haskew and Weta Pearl Peeples.

She is survived by three sons, Claude Larry (Suzy) Gates, Sr., William Terry (Arlene) Gates both of Thomasville and Roger Dale (Jimmy) Gates, Sr. of Fulton; daughter, Leila Marie Gates of Thomasville; brother-inlaw, William Floyd Gates of Thomasville; sister-inlaw, Dean Gates of Thomasville; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a number of other relatives.

Pallbearers were: Chris Gates, Larry Gates, Jr., Jason Barnes, Jeff Barnes, Sean Gates and Justin Gates.

Honorary pallbearers were Dale Gates, Heath Gates, Grey Gates, Tory Horton, Tony Barnes and Nicole Horton.

O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed.
