Luff

John Henry Luff, 83, of Grove Hill died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Jackson Health Care Facility. He was born August 20, 1927.

He was a native of Pike County, Ind. and a retired Hospital Administrator for Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Grove Hill Baptist Church, Worshipful Master of Lodge #7 in Grove Hill, a Mason and member of Palace Lodge #765, a member of Abba Temple Shrine, the Tombigbee Shrine Club, a life member for the past 51 years of Scottish Rite Northern Dist and a Veteran of the Merchant Marines during WWII.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Interment was at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill. An online guestbook may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes. com.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Luff of Grove Hill; two sons, Richard (Amy) Luff of Heritage, Tenn. and Ronald (Vickie) Luff of Springfield, Ill.; three daughters, Lynn (Jay) Temple of Palm Bay, Fla., Lana Bonomo of Melbourne, Fla. and Lori (Chris) Weaver of Grove Hill; brother, Claud Luff of Owensville, Ind.; two sisters, Ethel Pogorzelski of Stow, Ohio and Dosha Luff of Evansville, Ind.; eight granchildren, John Richard Luff, Adam Luff, Ronald Luff, II, Nick Luff, Emma Fagan, Todd Temple, Clay Weaver and Emily Sheffield; great grandchild, Chance Sheffield.

Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill directed.
