She worked in construction, as an electrician before retiring. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, art, reading, forensics and raising Chihuahuas. Her favorite time would be spent with family, kids and friends reminiscing over a pot of coffee.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Thomasville Church of God in Thomasville with Bro. Josh Gill officiating. Interment was at Kelley Cemetery in Pine Hill.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Marie Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, John Percy Chandler, Jr. of Thomasville; two sons, Joshua (Nicole) Henson of Dickinson and Nick (Hope) Henson of Thomasville; two brothers, Chucky (Teresa) Gates and Tony (Brandy) Gates both of Thomasville; sister, Nita (Mike) Twilley of Linden; five grandchildren, Elijah, Ethan, Evan, Emerson and Aiden Henson; father, Charles Edward Gates of Camden and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Andy Gates, Michael Gates and Antony Gates, Stevie Gates, Billy Pritchett and Chris Welch.
Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Twilley and Patrick Gates.
St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
