James Albert Haskew, 83, of Thomasville died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his home. He was born November 5, 1927 in Selma.

He was a former welder and machinist. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a member of Oliver Lodge #334 F&AM.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Darden and Rev. Bill Faircloth officiating. Interment was at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Maxine Haskew of Thomasville; three sons, Frank (Virginia) Haskew of Greenville, Don Haskew and Dennis (Hazel) Haskew both of Thomasville; daughter, Pat (Mike) Agee of Thomasville; brother, Ned (Ann) Haskew of Louisiana; four sisters, Juanita (John) McVeigh of Nevada, Maggie Overton of Lower Peachtree, Alma Ruth Whitaker of Texas and Frances (Smitty) Smith of Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bob Wade, Dennis Drinkard, Deryke Slade, Mack Harris, Ray Norris and Little Larry Gates.

Honorary pallbearers were Members of the Liberty Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class, Cecil McKinley, Mike Bishop and Ernest Slade.
