Gary Dean Garrick, 48, of Dickinson died Monday, January 3, 2011 at USA Medical Center in Mobile. He was born February 15, 1962 in Fulton. He was the owner of Garrick’s Grocery Store in Scyrene and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Salem Baptist Church in Scyrene with Rev. Harvey Hutto officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Elosie Garrick, and sister, Mitzi Garrick.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Garrick of Dickinson; two daughters, Laura (Michael) Newton of Dickinson and Cristi (Burke) Adkins of Herndon, Va.; son, Douglas (Tina) McGee of Livingston, La.; two brothers, Manuel Lee (Anne) Garrick, Jr. and Bert (Marie) Garrick both of Dickinson; three sisters, Rhonda (Roger) Whitfield and Brenda Garrick Braswell both of Dickinson and Sherry Hunt of Mobile; granddaughter, Erin Newton of Dickinson and 8 other grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Glenn Bradford, Bruce Green, David Skipper, George Skipper, Keith Hicks, Don Bradford, Mike Bishop and Gray Skipper.

Honorary pallbearers were Lee Duke, Billy Hicks, Ray Norris and Ron Baggette.
