Evelyn Bridges Lyles, 70, of Thomasville died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center. She was born Nov. 7, 1940 in Rayford, Fla. Mrs. Lyles wrote a weekly column for The Thomasville Times and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Brunson and Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Interment was at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Traci Kaye Lyles and son, John Kevin Lyles.
She is survived by her husband, John Bettis Lyles of Thomasville; son, Jimmy (Kay) Lyles of Pelham; two daughters, Gerri (James) Robinson of Pike Road and Terri Lyles of Thomasville; three brothers, J. C. Bridges of Rome, Ga., James Bridges of Lake City, Fla. and Charles Bridges of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sister, Mildred “Micky” Cobb of Lake City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Mary) Lyles, Jesse Lyles, William (Lindsay) Lyles, Adam Lyles, Andrew Robinson, Samantha Robinson, Logan Lyles and Braeden Lyles; granddaughter-in-law, Danuelle Lyles; two greatgranddaughters, Peyton Lyles and Riley Lyles.
Pallbearers were Chuck Kane, Austin Lee Crawford, Charles Kane, Herbert Newton, Woodie Newton and Chuck Newton.
