Ernest Ray Watson, 76, of Jackson died Friday, March 4, 2011 at his home. He was born June 1, 1934. Mr. Watson was a retired pastor with the Southern Baptist Association as well as a retired teacher with the Clarke County Board of Education. He was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Forest Ave. Baptist Church with Revs. Joel Watson and Don Rushing officiating. Interment was at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Brunell; father, Henley Watson; brother, Frank Watson and step-father, Freddie Brunell, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbye Watson of Jackson; son, Joel Ray Watson of Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas; three daughters, Wanda W. Anderson of Eclectic, Deena Watson and Jobie Watson both of Baltimore, Md.; brother, Freddie Brunell, Jr. of Mobile; two sisters, Carolyn Pettis and Sherrie Brunell both of Mobile; 6 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Pete Anderson, Freddie Brunell, Jr., Fred Brunell, Sr., Ray Baber, Lee Chestnut and Dale Pettis.
Honorary pallbearers were Auburn Martin and Cornerstone Sunday School Class of Forest Ave. Baptist Church.
