Jordan

Barbara R. Jordan, 72, of Grove Hill died March 21, 2011. She was born Aug. 8, 1938 in Perth, New York. She was a member of Witch Creek Baptist Church. She was honorably discharged from the United States Army, Women’s Army Corps with the rank of Private First Class in September, 1959.

Visitation will be Friday, March 25 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service at Witch Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Harrison officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Genevieve Skoda and a sister Bonnie Skoda.

Survivors include four sons, Eddie “Buddy” (Angie) Jordan, Grove Hill, Johnny (Donna) Jordan, Cunningham, Al (Ensley) Jordan, Auburn, Charlie (Courtney) Jordan, Satsuma; two daughters, Lisa (Tommy) Phillips, Grove Hill, Lydia (Warren) Christian, Dothan; two sisters, Florence (Jerry) Hyney, Ft. Plain, New York, Lois Snell, Watertown, New York; grandchildren, Alan (Whitney) Phillips, Justin Phillips, Heather (Brian) Newton, Adam Jordan, Lindsay Jordan, Kimberly Jordan, Alana Jordan, Lydia Jordan, Madison Jordan, MacKenzie Jordan, Tara (Todd) Ready; Brandon Gates; Patrick Alford, Brad Alford; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews, former husband of 27 years, Dwance Jordan, Cunningham.

Active pallbearers will be Buddy Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Al Jordan, Charlie Jordan, Tommy Phillips and Warren Christian.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Phillips, Adam Jordan, Justin Phillips, Brian Newton, Jerry Hyney, Cecil White, Cecil Jordan and Michael White.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations to the Donna Sue Alford Cancer Fund at First United Security Bank.
