John Bruce McNider, Sr., 64, of Morvin died Friday, April 1, 2011 at his home. He was born June 16, 1946 in Selma. He was a cattleman and member of Forest Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at Forest Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Irvis Dale Everette and Rev. Danny Nelson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Oris McNider; mother, Allie B. Etheridge McNider; daughter, Angela Allday; brother, William Oris McNider.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Joyce Hovatter McNider of Morvin; three sons, Bruce (Melissa) McNider, Jr. of Morvin, Emmett Oris McNider, II of Nanafalia and Kenneth (Denise) Allday of Jackson; daughter, Lezli (Kenny) Thomason of Foley; eight grandchildren, Mary Alex McNider and John Bruce McNider, III both of Morvin, Devin McNider and MaKenzie McNider both of Uniontown, Baylee Thomason of Foley, Kevin (Lauren) Davis of Fayette, Mallory Fay (Richard) Weaver and Kenneth Ethan Allday both of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Seth Weaver of Jackson and Kaden Davis of Fayette.
Pallbearers were Mike Drew, Raymond Barron, Wayne Tate, Stevie Overton, Alfonsoe Patterson and Robbie Broadus.
Honorary pallbearers were Jared Downey, Marvin Wilson, Joe Nuzzolilo, Ralph Lofton, Roy Campbell, Rocky Phillips, Virgil Broadus, Jimmy Vick, Martel Pope, Dan Jackson and Jimmy Dement.
