Sam Fletcher Ledbetter, Jr., 83, of Linden died April 19, 2011 at DCH Regional Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1927 in Reeltown. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a retired administrator with the Farmers Home Administration U. S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Linden United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Bass officiating. Interment was at Linden Memorial Park.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ledbetter; daughter, Janet Barrett; granddaughter, Laura Ledbetter.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Middleton Ledbetter of Linden; two daughters, Gail (Jack) Kapphan of Tuscaloosa and Jo Emmons of Auburn; three sons, Charles (Susan) Ledbetter of Meridian, Miss.; son, Mitch (Gloria) Emmons of Auburn and Pat (Rebecca) Emmons of Ephrata, Wash.; grandchildren, Lewis Cole, Sara Elizabeth Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Bess Wilder, William Ledbetter and Melissa Ledbetter; two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lewis Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Rob Wilder, William Ledbetter and Drew Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to the Linden United Methodist Church.
