Mr. Savage was a member of the Leroy High School Class of 1978. Dedicated to his work, in 1987 he received the Gold Star Award in Tuscaloosa while employed with the Morrows Companies. He relocated to Atlanta, Ga. in 1992.
Family and friends share that he made an impact on the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He was a trusted friend and advisor to many. A great chef, he loved fishing but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nyasia Alicia Savage.
Survivors include his fiancée Elsie Brewer; six sons, Carlos Savage of McIntosh, Gregg (Raquel) Savage of Leroy, Carlton Conley of Louisville, Ky., Virgil Brewer, Wesley Brewer and Myron Brewer are of Jackson; daughter, Natalie (Leonard) Walton of Jackson, Ga.; mother, Margaret S. Davis of Leroy; four siblings, Jacklyn S. McDonald of St. Stephens, Gregory (Dina) Savage of McDonough, Ga., Shelia (Frank) Webb of Sunflower and Calvin Davis of Leroy; two nieces, Leslie Savage of St. Stephens and Saniya Webb of Sunflower; three nephews, Jacob McDonald, Damien Davenport and Calvin Davis Jr., all of McIntosh; 14 grandchildren, seven aunts, four uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were May 14 at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Leroy with the Rev. Charlie J. White, pastor, as officiating minister. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were directed by Speer and Speer Funeral Home of McDonough.
Pallbearers and flower bearers were Mr. Savage’s family and friends.
