James Lewis Phillips, 80, a retired electronic specialist, of Aimwell died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. He was born July 23, 1930 in Aimwell. He was a member of the Aimwell Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy, Korean War veteran.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Aimwell Baptist Church with Revs. Don White and Percy Clarke officiating. Interment was at Aimwell Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Phillips; two brother-inlaws, Luther Morgan and Paul Kelley.
He is survived by three sisters, Valerie Morgan of Theodore, Ruth Phillips of Sweet Water and Jo Kelley of Tuscumbia; sister-in-law, Karen Phillips of Gulf Shores and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Mark Morgan, Mike Kelley, Chris Woodard, Daniel Morgan, Phil Morgan and Nathan Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were John Morgan, Brad Morgan, J. D. Flowers, Willie Allen Cabiness and Austin Green.
