Betty Jean Furrow, 71, a resident of Thomasville, and a former resident of Millbrook, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in a Mobile hospital with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Paul Warner Furrow in 2006.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Bartley Furrow (Donna), of Thomasville, Keith Alan Furrow (Teresa) of Thomasville, and Kevin Paul Furrow (Gail) of Thomasville.
Mrs. Furrow had eight grandchildren: Jason Furrow (Heather), Matthew Furrow, Cub McAleer, Maegen McAleer, Jennifer Castleberry (Shane), Tiffany Lockhart, Clay Furrow (Alison Blankenship) and Hunter Furrow and four great grandchildren, Brayton Furrow, Madisen Furrow, and Zack and Russel Castleberry.
She retired from Sylvest.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Leak-Memory chapel in Montgomery, and a graveside service will follow immediately after at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Nick Gaines and Rev. Hughie Denton officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Lynn, Josh Browder and Mallan Sheffield.
