Betty Jean Furrow, 71, a resident of Thomasville, and a former resident of Millbrook, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in a Mobile hospital with her family by her side.
She retired from Sylvest and enjoyed the rest of her life spending time in the company of family and friends and with an occasional fishing trip or two.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Nick Gaines and Rev. Hughie Denton officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Paul Warner Furrow in 2006.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Bartley (Donna) Furrow, Keith Alan (Teresa) Furrow, and Kevin Paul (Gail) Furrow all of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Furrow, Matthew Furrow, Cub McAleer, Maegen McAleer, Jennifer (Shane) Castleberry, Tiffany Lockhart, Clay (Alison Blankenship) Furrow and Hunter Furrow; four great-grandchildren, Brayton Furrow, Madisen Phillips, Zack Castleberry and Russel Castleberry.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were Travis Lynn, Josh Browder and Mallan Sheffield.
