Mary Jean Sheffield, 78, of Fulton, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born February 13, 1933 in Thomasville. She was a retired security guard from Scotch Lumber Company and a member of the First Baptist Church Fulton.
Graveside funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville with Dr. John Copeland officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sheffield; parents, John Roberts and Mary Bell Megginson Roberts.
She is survived by two daughters, Shelby J. (Brian) Melton of Wartrace, Tenn. and Terry S. (Woody) Bailey of Fulton; brother, Charles Roberts of Pine Hill; four grandchildren, Michael (Donna) Sollie, Melissa Meadows, Staci (Lee) Finney and James Richard Bailey; 12 greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Bailey, Lee Finney, Michael Sollie, Brian Melton, Mike Norris and Morris Allday.
Honorary pallbearers were members of First Baptist Church Fulton and members of the Fulton Fire Department.
