Campbell

Jimmie Bernice Fowler Campbell, 90, of Grove Hill died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born October 1, 1921 in Allen. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She enjoyed collecting and displaying antiques and collectables. She was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at Tompkins Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Interment was at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Grove Hill.

She was the last surviving child of John and Annie Fowler, pioneer resident of the Allen-Walker Springs Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, James Enoch Campbell of Grove Hill; two sons, James Lanier “Lou” Campbell of Grove Hill and Roger Gray Campbell of Marion, Va.; daughter, Jane Campbell Patterson of Opelika; six grandchildren, Lynne Campbell and Leslie (Bill) Graves both of Fulton, Kristin (Bobby) Michael of Charlotte, N.C., Rebecca Campbell of Lake Mary, Fla., Ryan (Regina) Kearley of Auburn and Kyle Kearley of Gainesville, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Campbell and Clarke Graves and Avery Lee Michael; a host of beloved nieces and nephews who called her Aunt “Bern” affectionately and many friends.

Pallbearers were Jerry Clark, Rodger Hare, Keith Newton, Bo Powell, Paul Williams and Elma Averett.
