Gerald Gray Newton, 68, a retired electrician of Dickinson, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1943 in Sweet Water. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Graveside services were Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Dickinson Cemetery with Revs. Harvey Hutto and Danny Ellis officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Larrimore Newton of Dickinson; three sons, W. Shane Newton, G. Blaine Newton and Brent G. Newton, all of Fulton; brother, Ben L. Newton of Aiken, S.C.; two sisters, Alicia Willodean Webb and Robbie Edmonds, both of Thomasville and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Norris, Joe Day, Michael Nelson, Jody Daniels, Rex Rush and Randall Robertson.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Hutto, Randy Garrick, Edward Walters, Donald Joe James, Kent Wiggins, Dan Sheffield, Glenn Andrews, Joe McNider and Rev. Gray Snodgrass.
