Dr. Peter Alba Trice Jr., a native of Thomasville, died Dec. 19, 2011 in Tuscaloosa at the age of 90.

He loved to fish and hunt, and he loved to laugh and he loved life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Peter Alba Trice, Sr. and Nell Shahan Trice and his sister, Elizabeth Trice Nichols.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Webb Trice, with whom he danced at every wedding they attended; his children, Amy Trice, Jack and April Trice, Peter Trice and Dan Trice; his grandchildren, Patrick, Lauren, Cameron, Peter, and Emily; his sister, Nanelle Trice Adams; brother-in-law, John E. Adams and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

As of Jan. 1, 2009, The Times began charging a $20 insertion fee for all obituaries and that are processed through funeral homes placing the obituaries. The obituaries are $10 each if placed in two or all three of the county newspapers (The Thomasville Times, The Clarke County Democrat and The South Alabamian). Photographs of the deceased and U.S. flag art denoting military service can be added for an additional fee of $5. The newspapers will continue to publish brief death notices at no charge, giving the name, age, date of death and hometown of the deceased, immediate survivors (spouse and children only) and the place of the funeral and of burial. Other survivors, funeral ministers, pallbearers and other information on the deceased will be confined to paid obituaries.
