Robert Albert Plummer, 80, of Valdosta, Ga. died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at his home. He was born in Grove Hill Dec. 26, 1931 to the late Ralph H. and Carrie Riggan Plummer and had lived in Valdosta for the past ten years.
Mr. Plummer was a 1955 graduate of Auburn University and the owner of a Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Methodist Church.
Graveside services were Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at Choctaw Corner Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ann Nettles Plummer; two sisters, Frances Vivian Plummer (Buren) Nichols and Mary Belle Plummer (Dovey Fair) Anderson; sister in-law, Constance Furr Plummer and brother-inlaw, Ben Williams.
He is survived by his daughter, Frances Vivian Plummer (Shannon R., Jr.) Hollinger of Camden; three sons, Robert Albert (Sharon L.) Plummer, II and Ralph Samuel Plummer, both of Valdosta, Ga. and James Daniel (Rebecca J.) Plummer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Shannon R. Hollinger, III, Frances Vivian Plummer, Hannah Kay Plummer and Chloe Ann Plummer; two brothers, M. C. Plummer of Jackson, William Ralph (Hazel) Plummer of Camp Hill; four sisters, Dorothy Plummer (Bernard) Schenk of Thomasville, Leta Mae Plummer Williams of San Antonia, Texas, Katherine Elizabeth Plummer (Douglas N.) Barfield of Montgomery and Virginia Plummer (Dewey H.) Crim of Johns Creek, Ga.
