Minnie Cravey Beverly, 100, of Thomasville died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2012 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born in the Winn Community Nov. 12, 1911. She was the last of 12 children born to John and Genie Cravey. She spent her entire life in Clarke County. She was a former elementary school teacher and was a member of Thomasville Baptist Church, the Garden Club and a past member of the Thomasville Library Board.
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 2 at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Parten, Rev. David Nelson and Dr. James Best officiating. Interment was at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Roland Beverly; daughter, Sammy Kay Beverly and a grandson, Chris Carter.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty (John L.) Carter of Jackson and JoAnn (Douglas) Wester of Huntsville; four grandchildren, Beverly Carter, Dr. John Wester, David Wester and Jay Wester; eight greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Dr. John Wester, David Wester, Jay Wester, John Carter, Jason Carter and Jared Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Elect Sunday School Class of Thomasville Baptist Church and Christine Robinson, Margaret Garret, Katherine Green, Christy Robinson, Gloria Robinson, Dorothy Johns and Frances Talley.
Memorials may be made to the Thomasville Baptist Church Hand in Hand Building Fund or to the donor’s favorite charity.
