Maxine Diann Mullins, 61, a native of Sunny South and resident of Grove Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1950. She was a security guard with Alabama River Pulp. She was a member of Asbury Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 4, at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Revs. Marion Ball and James “Skeeter” Parnell officiating. Interment followed in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Marengo County.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Parnell; son, Frank Mullins; sister, Shirley Jackson and brother, Freeman Parnell.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Frank Mullins of Grove Hill; son, Johnnie (Bobbie Jean) Mullins of Grove Hill; mother, Eula Maxine Parnell of Pine Hill; six brothers, Rayford Parnell of Tallahatta Springs, Douglas Parnell and “Skeeter” Parnell, both of Thomasville, Don Parnell of Leroy, Kenneth Parnell of Mobile and Leon Parnell of Chilton; three sisters, Bobby Holder of Texas, Joyce Huckabee of Louisiana and Shelia Green of Pine Hill; grandchildren, Darren Mullins and Shelby Mullins.
Pallbearers were Douglas Parnell, Rayford Parnell, Kenneth Parnell, Don Parnell, Leon Allison and Jon Wesley Parnell.
Honorary pallbearer was Ward Jackson.
