Gaines Raymond Adams, 82, of Thomasville died Thursday, Mar. 1, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born Oct. 31, 1929 in Gilbertown. He was a retired insurance agent with Liberty National Life Insurance Company. Mr. Adams was the Voice of The Thomasville Tigers for over 33 years. He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran and attended the Thomasville Baptist Church. He was a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and Oliver Lodge #334 F & AM in Thomasville.

Funeral services were Saturday, Mar. 3, at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Interment followed at the Bashan Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

He is survived by his wife, Grace A. Adams of Thomasville; three daughters, Brenda (David) Cofer and Patricia Clanton, both of Dothan and Lenda (Buddy) Ezell of Stapleton; sister, Vermel Nordan of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Cofer, Ira “Buddy” Ezell, Adam Clanton, Randy Adams, Chris Kelley and Lane Knight.
