Cecil Gray Phillips, 78, of Thomasville died Wednesday, Apr. 18, 2012 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born January 27, 1934 in Coffeeville. Mr. Phillips was a former security guard at Scotch Plywood Mill and a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Funeral services were Saturday, Apr. 21, 2012 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Robbins officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Faye Phillips; son, Eric Glenn Phillips; granddaughter, Chelsey Lynn Phillips.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Phillips Garrick of Dickinson; brother, Roy Lee Phillips of Thomasville; seven sisters, Edna Agee, Carol Newton and Beverly Haskew, all of Thomasville, Nettie Bennett and Myrtle Lois Roberts, both of Fulton, Jessie Faye Stephens of Grove Hill and Peggy Daniels of Sweet Water; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gary Garrick, Sr., Gary Garrick, Jr., Frank Robinson, Mark Williams, Mickey Phillips and Stevie Stephens.
Alternate pallbearer was Kayne Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Stephens, Wayne Roberts, Roy Cassity, Jake Robinson, Jaden Robinson, Joshua Robbins, Keith Graham and Dr. Keith Scott.
