Dumas

George Thomas “Tommy” Dumas, age 74, a native of Grove Hill, died Thursday, May 3, 2012. He was born March 4, 1938, in Grove Hill, and was a devoted husband and father. He was a graduate of Clarke County High School, member of Union Baptist Church, and retiree of Weyerhaeuser Co.

Mr. Dumas was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow W. Dumas, mother, Etta Goodwin Dumas, and brother, Royce D. Dumas.

He is survived by a wife, Martha Sutton Dumas; four children, Thomas “Wayne” (Robyn) Dumas, Yvette Dumas (Odell) McGhee , Mary Guy (James) Reaves, and Ramona Guy (Brent) Robinson; brother, Woodrow (Pauline) Dumas, sister, Maxine D. Larsen; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Clarice Gates.

The funeral was Saturday, May 5, at Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Reaves, Brent Robinson, Eddie Flint, Terry Simpson, Craig Hare and Grady Kilpatrick.

Honorary pallbearers were Odell McGhee and the Union Baptist Church Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
