Adams

John Edmund “Jack” Adams, Jr., 85, of Grove Hill died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence. He was born Aug. 7, 1926. He was an attorney with Adams, Adams and Wilson. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Business and Commerce and the University of Alabama Law School. Mr. Adams was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Alabama Bar Association and the Clarke County Bar Association. He served in the U.S. Marines.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 20, at Grove Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Rhodes officiating. Interment followed at Grove Hill Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edmund Adams, Sr. and Nan Coleman Adams; two sons, John Edmund Adams, III and Peter Trice Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Nanelle Trice Adams of Grove Hill; son, David Coleman Adams of Gulf Shores; daughter, Martha Evelyn Shahan Adams of Baker, La.; six grandchildren, John Michael (Heather) Adams and Melissa Louise (Rusty) Adams-Dillon, both of Bon Secour, William David Adams and Coleman Troupe Adams, both of Gulf Shores, Mary Megan Adams and Katherine Shahan Adams, both of Columbus, Ga.; two daughters in-law, Merrilee Adams of Bon Secour and Deborah Adams of Columbus, Ga.

Pallbearers were John Michael Adams, William David Adams, Coleman Troupe Adams, Rusty Dillon, Steve Crowley and John T. Daffin.

Honorary pallbearers were Bruce N. Wilson, Lee B. Williams, William A. Kimbrough, Hon. Hardie B. Kimbrough, Paul White, Don French, William Stephen Gordon, Lamar C. Johnson, Wade Bowen Perry, Frank Hickman and George “Buddy” Skipper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grove Hill Library or Jimmy Finley Memorial Library at Grove Hill United Methodist Church.
