William Lamar Hicks, 80, of Dickinson died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born May 7, 1932. He was a retired car dealer and a member of Salem Baptist Church in Scyrene. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services were Friday, July 20, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Harvey Hutto officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lee and Maggie Fendley Hicks.
He is survived by his wife, Havaline Joy R. Hicks of Dickinson; son, Billy Hicks of Dickinson; grandchild, Brandi Cheyanne of Dickinson.
Pallbearers were Jim Hudson, John Champion, John Green, Don Bradford, Chuck Turner and Manuel Garrick.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack McHaney, Ronnie Jowers, Calvin Bradford, Harvey Sheffield, Winston Tate and Lewellyn Stevens.
