Grady Miller Martin, Sr., 81, of Nicholsville, passed away Aug. 14, 2012 at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga. Martin, born in Nanafalia in 1931, resided in Marengo County until he enlisted in the Navy to serve in the Korean War. He left the Navy in 1951. He worked in California in the aircraft industry on the development of the Drone Program (radio controlled aircraft) until he retired and returned to Alabama.
He is survived by daughter, Rhonda Martin Campbell of Bakersfield, Calif.; stepson, Michael Murro of Longwood, Fla.; brother, James A. (Dale) Martin of Talladega, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Grady Miller Martin, Jr. and stepdaughter, Margo Weber.
Funeral services were at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home, Aug. 18, with the Rev. Rob Wynne officiating. Burial was at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nanafalia.
Active pallbearers were Gerrad Martin, Dominic Drew, Tommy Martin, Roman Herbert, Kevin Folse and John Manning.
