Luther Dillard Hunt, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at St. Vincent/St. Clair Hospital in Pell City. He was born Aug. 21, 1929. Hunt was a medical lab technologist, where he worked in the lab of Drs. Weber, Palmer and Macy in Salina, Kan. for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pell City, where he served as a deacon. Hunt served eight years in the U. S. Air Force and 22 years in the Kansas Air National Guard. He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1948.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Shields Hunt; three daughters, Fran (Don) Druse, Brenda Avery and Sharon (John) Nichols; son, Bud (Myong) Hunt; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Jamie) Miller, Jennifer (Neal) Arnold, Sarah Patterson, Phillip Avery, Johnny Nichols, Ian Nichols, Jessica (Mike) Reed, Jenny Hunt and Tyler Hunt; nine great-grandchildren, Blakeley Miller, Harrison Miller, Hayden Miller, Hudson Arnold, Luke Arnold, Molly Arnold, Emory Arnold, Chloe Patterson and Sophia Rose Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Albert Hunt; mother, Clara Bagley Hunt; two sisters, Evelyn Hunt and Nina Friddle; and brother, Dr. Albert C. Hunt.
Memorial services will be Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pell City with Rev. A. L. Courtney and Dr. John Thweatt officiating. Arrangements were made by the Cremation Center of Birmingham.
